| When I first heard this song performed by Pearl Jam, I knew I'd heard it before. My sister and I used to play the original on 45 rpm on my mom's record player 35 some odd years ago. The original is from J. Frank Wilson and the Cavaliers in 1964. The true story behind the lyrics is quite heartwrenching. |
