ARTHUR GODFREW - SLAP HER DOWN AGAIN PA

I like your lyrics. I agree with the teacher, it is Godfrey. The song is from the late 40's or early 50's. It would have been on a 78 record, no albums back then unless multiple 78's in a binder. I remember sister "Sue" rather than "Bess". One place that doesn't work for me is the line "we all ran out beside them with shotguns by our sides". It doesn't make sense. Try "we all went out to find them with shotguns by our sides". Godfrey was a comedian and the host of a talent show, first on radio and the TV (similar to american idol). He probably didn't write or record many more songs.
